Cristiano Ronaldo Latest Injury Update

Cristiano Ronaldo is pushing himself to be ready to make his return to the pitch for the Los Blancos' opening UEFA Champions League fixture against Ajax on the 15th September. After 10 days of indoor training and recovery Cristiano was seen back on the field training on his own this morning.

As everyone knows, he picked up an ankle injury in Real Madrid's opening game of the Spanish season against Mallorca and was expected to be out for at least three weeks, but could be about to beat the doctors' predictions to return a week early.

According to AS, Ronaldo spent the past 10 days in the pool and the gym to overcome the swelling he had on the affected area. That was the first stage and now he is apparently well into the second stage of his recovery which is working out on the pitch alone. This is according to AS a crucial test as he will be testing his ankle to see how it responds to the training.

However if nothing goes wrong then he could take part in a full training session with his teammates by the end of the week.
