Cristiano Ronaldo not playing Real Madrid friendly tomorrow?

According to AS, Jose Mourinho is planning to omit four of Real Madrid's star players including Cristiano Ronaldo in the pre-season friendly on Sunday against Hercules in Alicante.

Along with Cristiano Ronaldo sitting on the sidelines will be Sergio Ramos, Xabi Alonso and Iker Casillas.

Among the players replacing them are newest recruit Mesut Oezil who is set to be making his Real Madrid debut during the match and Karim Benzema who is currently recovering from an injury.

Despite Hercules asking Real Madrid to send their best squad Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho wants to keep his players in the best shape possible for the new season and feels like the four players need a rest.

 No word on how Cristiano took the news but we all know he hates being benched. However i'm guessing he didn't take it too badly this time as it is only a pre-season match and he's not playing because they don't want to risk injury or have him not being ready for the season. I'm sure that was a much needed confidence booster ;)
